Since I have been reading almost 100 posts from job seekers looking for an appropriate job and many times the person himself/herself posts looking for a change for their friend which is actually for themselves…As an HR of an esteemed organization, I have been facing this issue for a long time and thus writing this article on what does an employer seeks in a candidate who has come for an interview…

 

Continuous rejections may lead to stress sometimes and you might keep editing your resume for better results. Therefore, you need to understand the current and future nebulous market needs. Various researches are being conducted which signify that the dynamics of the job market have evolved tremendously in the last decade. The economy is an evolving phase where apart from digital transformation, business models are constantly unfolding, giving birth to an unknown genre of jobs. The existing skill sets need to be modified in light of shifting business modules.

 

Here is a list of skills and you need to be geared up with while going for an interview.

 

1. Communication skills

Communication is a two-way process and thus it is important to be clear while communicating in an interview…Articulate well.

 

2. Technical Skills

It is very important to be well equipped technically as in this modern era where things can be done at the click of a button, an employer seeks all-round technical knowledge in an employee. The employee should be well aware of the current and trending technology before going for an interview

 

3. Leadership and Teamwork

At the base of an organization lies a leader who helps the employees look at the organization’s goals as their own goals with his strategic teamwork. The company seeks the same leadership and Teamwork quality in each and every employee. It helps maintain the positivism prosperity in the organization

 

4. Emotional Intelligence

At the core, the organization also looks at the employee’s emotional intelligence. As apart from technical competencies and intelligence, being ethical, empathetic, authentic and being able to benefit from criticism, applaud others and be helpful are important virtues

 

5. Global fluency

The need for an hour is to also have a global perspective along with technical competencies. Awareness about global affairs, being able to share the point of view, and being able to mingle with diversified culture globally through social media is equally important.

 

6. Critical thinking

Nowadays the employers are looking for smart workers, not the hard-worker, which means that the employee should be able to think, reason out and come up with the solution on his.her own without any senior interference. This is a personal skill that actually cannot be imparted through the education system, it has to be developed within.

 

7. Professionalism

Degrees do not matter, what matters is your aura, personality, timeliness, confidence, and dressing style which speak volumes about you.

 

These are the basic things that can be kept in mind before going for an interview. rather than being nervous, simply wear a smile and confidence followed by these points.
